Tracy has a 30+ year history in the swimming industry. She started as a competitive swimmer at the age of 6 and has many state titles and high point awards. She was extremely successful on the national level, achieving Olympic Trials status in 1980, the year the United States boycotted the Olympics. She brings more than 25 years of coaching/teaching experience, including the last 20 years coaching for USA swimming teams in the Houston area where she she has lead swimmers to 6 National records, 15 state records, 26 Gulf records and 22 TAGS records including the Texas Age Group Championship. Tracy has also been a private stroke technician for several Olympic Trial swimmers. She has also coached numerous Top 16 swimmers, several #1 rankings in the nation, and National and Jr National qualifiers. She loves to help swimmers maximize their potential by building a strong foundation of proper stroke mechanics. Tracy also has many years of leadership in the swim school business. We are so excited to have her on our team! Tracy has been influential in starting several swim schools in the Houston area. Her love for swimming as a child impacted her life and has become her life passion. Tracy has five children and eight grandchildren and enjoys spending time with her family, traveling and photography.

Tori was a competitive gymnast and cheerleader until she became a coach herself at a gymnastics facility in Louisiana. She has over 4 years of gymnastics teaching experience , in addition to instructing group fitness classes and personal training. She graduated from Southeastern Louisiana University in 2009 with a degree in Finance. After working in the corporate world for a few years, she decided to focus her career on her first passion, gymnastics, and is currently directing the gymnastics program for Sea Star. Her favorite part about coaching gymnastics, is watching the excitement a child feels when they accomplish a new skill for the first time. She enjoys spending her time planning and designing the program in order to teach kids the benefits of gymnastics and being active.

Courtney, a University of Houston student, came to Sea Star in the Spring of 2010. Her bubbley and effervescent attitude make her a perfect match for Sea Star's front desk responsibilities. She is quickly learning all of our students by name and takes great joy in learning of their newly accomplished milestones. Before coming to Sea Star, Courtney spent times as a pediatric dentist assistant, a teacher's aid for 1st graders and also assisted with a children's art class. Her love of children and her organizational skills are evident in her daily work at Sea Star. In her free time Courtney enjoys water skiing, hiking, rollerblading and crocheting.

Heidy is a Biology student on the Pre-Med track at Houston Baptist University. She is also minoring in Chemistry and Spanish, in which she is already fluent. Heidy enjoys cooking, reading, traveling, having fun with friends, coffee, and chocolate. She was born in Houston, Texas but her family is originally from El Salvador, Mexico, and Spain. She has a pet bird named Twister. Heidy loves working with and caring for kids.

Kristin has a B.A. in Psychology from California State University, competitive swim experience, over a decade of ballet training, and has previously been a gymnastics coach with Aerial Athletics in San Antonio. She has over 5 years experience working with children in different capacities.If you're asking yourself why a person with a degree in psychology would be teaching gymnastics, Kristin is a firm believer in the benefits of gymnastics to a child's growth and brain development. She has studied about the link between learning gross and fine motor skills and their link to enhanced cognitive reasoning skills. In her free time Kristin enjoys sailing, surfing and playing with her Boston Terrier puppy, Daphne. She believes that seeing children learn and gain self-confidence is what makes her job worthwhile.

Maria is currently an HCC student. She hopes to transfer to UT San Antonio to study Kinesiology. Her main goal is to become a Physical Therapist. She loves kids & is a Superman fanatic!

Miss Sheila has been with Sea Star since 2006. She took on the challenge of running the little tots program for several years, and continues to run early care for summer camp. She taught swimming with Sea Star for over 4 years before she decided to stay dry and hold the title Enrollment specialist at the front desk. Growing up with 11 brothers and sisters and now with 3 kids and 5 grand kids you can tell her love for being around kids and families is true. Sea Star is the perfect second home for her!

You can find Coach Wendy at Sea Star filling a variety of roles. You can find her behind the front desk, teaching Make-up classes, at Camp Friday, and possibly at your school with Longfellow the Whale! She enjoys teaching the lil' ones in Sea Squirt 1 and Sea Squirt 2 classes. While she has a true knack with the youngsters her talent and knowledge doesn't end there...Wendy started swimming at a young age and swam competitively into college, she holds many certifications to her name including Water Safety Instructor, Lifeguard Instructor, & CPR/First Aid Instructor. To put the cherry on the cake Coach Wendy has a BS in Nursing, a BS in Kinesiology, a Masters in Public Health.

Coach Taelor is currently an Elkins High School Student. She is the youngest in her family & has one older sister. She plans on attending Baylor University to pursue a BSN. As a child she took ballet, tap, cheer, and jazz classes. She has been involved in Cheer for so long that she decided to become a coach. She loves to see the face of excitement on the faces of the kids when they learn a new skill.

Coach Casey was hired at Sea Star as a Camp Counselor, the second he saw the pool he was ready to teach swimming. After his first lesson we had the children in his class wanting more of Coach Casey's fun but effective teaching style. His favorite classes are Goldfish and Clownfish but Casey's abilities expand throughout the entire syllabus. While you may see him in camp again this summer, he will back in the pool each afternoon and evening for lessons!

Coach Desmond has been with the Sea Star family for the last year. He has quickly become a very well known and loved instructor. He helps develop a love for the water and an enjoyment for swim lessons as he guides each child through the Sea Star lesson curriculum. He was the captain of his high school swim team and has years of competitive swimming behind him. His professional approach ensures that each child receives a fabulous swimming education as well as a fond remembrance of their time at Sea Star.

Coach Galia is a senior at Dulles High School where she is the swim team's captain. Swimming is a passion for Galia and she has been doing it for 14 years!! She has been on the varsity team for the past 3 years. Galia will be going to Texas A&M in the fall of 2013 to study biochemistry. She was born in Mexico City but has lived in Sugar Land for the past 6 years. Her favorite animals are sharks, she loves Starbucks, and believes that Classic Rock is the best!! Galia loves working with children and also loves working at Sea Star.

Coach Hannah has a quieter teaching style than most of our instructors which translates well for a lot of our swimmers. Her patience and understanding make her the perfect teacher for our more reserved students. Children excel under her thorough and non-aggressive teaching style. Hannah's bright smile and sweet demeanor are fast earning her a spot in the hearts of her students. She continues to teach each afternoon while attending the University of Houston in the mornings.

Noor comes from a large family of 8 and is a senior at St. Agnes Academy. She has 3 younger siblings who all take swim lessons at Sea Star and they have given her good experience in working with children. Noor is a very social person and loves to talk. She likes getting to know new people and try new things. She loves a challenge. Noor has a goal of becoming a pediatrician one day where she can continue working with children.

Coach Peggy is a born swimmer. She grew up on a small island near Long Island, New York with nothing but the Atlantic Ocean for a backyard. She learned to swim before she could walk. By the time she was six years old, she was already teaching other people to swim. At age ten she was already one of the fastest in her age group of swimmers in New York State. When it came time to go to college, Peggy was offered many college swimming scholarships. She eventually earned twenty-seven All-American collegiate swimming titles. Today, Peggy lives in Missouri City with her husband and two teenage boys. They both love the water and swim on competitive memories of their days at Sea Star. Coach Peggy says "I love teaching at Sea Star. I have spent many years teaching people to swim and have found the Sea Star method to be the most progressive. It is based upon common sense and sound techniques. I love to see new students in my classes".

Sydney is captain of the Elkins High School cheerleading squad, where she is a senior, and has over 8 years of competitive cheerleading experience. She has participated in a variety of sports like: track, basketball, cheerleading, and gymnastics and she is a four time NCA All-American. She is a future LSU Tiger. Sydney has aspirations of becoming an OBGYN in the future. She is passionate about helping others and loves to spend her free time shopping. A unique fact about Sydney is that she set a record in Oklahoma for hula hooping the longest at 2 hours and 30 minutes!!

Coach Jessica Started working at Sea Star a year ago after she graduated from Houston Baptist University with a teaching degree. She loves working with children and before she came to the Sea Star team she taught a 3 year old class & also worked with the Fort Bend I.S.D extended day care program. Jessica loves encouraging children to learn and grow which is why she hope to incorporate this into the summer camp program as much as she can this summer. Another fun fact is that Jessica is married to Coach Casey!!!
