Tracy is new to Sea Star, she takes on a very important role as the Facilities Director. Tracy has years of leadership in the swim school business behind her. We are so excited to have her on our team! Tracy has been influential in starting several swim schools in the Houston area. She comes from a swimming background as a swimmer, teacher and a coach. Her love for swimming as a child impacted her life and has become her life passion. She was a competitive swimmer through her school years. She then moved to coaching and teaching others. She has coached beginners to Olympic trial athletes and is excited to continue her life passion at Sea Star. Tracy has five children and six grandchildren and enjoys spending time with her family.

Kelly has been a staple at Sea Star since 2004. She began as an instructor and quickly grew to a management position. She has worn many hats here, and at one time or another has been a gymnastics and swimming instructor, birthday party director, Camp Friday director, front desk staff and deck supervisor. She has held WSI certifications since 2003 and coached competitive swim teams as well as being the captain of her high school swim team for two years. Her responsible nature and knowledge of swimming makes her an invaluable asset to our community as the Aquatics Director. Kelly continues to teach swimming as the Fast Track lesson instructor n the Fall (a program she designed and built the curriculum for.) Her door is always open so that she can answer questions or concerns about your child's progress, techniques used, or other aquatics related issues. Kelly is certified in CPR for the profesional rescuer, AED, and First Aid. She is a member of the United States Swim School Association, American Swim Coaches Association, is a Certified Level 2 Swim Coach and recently received the USSSA's Outstanding Teacher Award.

Miss Sheila has been with Sea Star since 2006. She took on the challenge of running the little tots program for several years, and continues to run early care for summer camp. She taught swimming with Sea Star for over 4 years before she decided to stay dry and hold the title Enrollment specialist at the front desk. Growing up with 11 brothers and sisters and now with 3 kids and 5 grand kids you can tell her love for being around kids and families is true. Sea Star is the perfect second home for her!

Courtney, a University of Houston student, came to Sea Star in the Spring of 2010. Her bubbley and effervescent attitude make her a perfect match for Sea Star's front desk responsibilities. She is quickly learning all of our students by name and takes great joy in learning of their newly accomplished milestones. Before coming to Sea Star, Courtney spent times as a pediatric dentist assistant, a teacher's aid for 1st graders and also assisted with a children's art class. Her love of children and her organizational skills are evident in her daily work at Sea Star. In her free time Courtney enjoys water skiing, hiking, rollerblading and crocheting.

Coach Ryan has been a highly requested teacher at Sea Star since 2006. He started at Sea Star a deck supervisor, but his passion for teaching has brought him into the water in the instructor capacity. Coach Ryan has mastered the art of determining each child's best learning style and using that to facilitate class. He is an instructor who will push each student to their potential, while ensuring they are having a great time!

Coach Heather has been a morning swim lesson staple since 2004. Heather is one of our most popular Sea Squirt 1 instructors, she enjoys teaching all ages especially the very young. She believes teaching children to love the water and has seen this help them learn very quickly. Her specialties are children who are afraid, she gives them lots of encouragement and builds their confidence. She swam for the First Colony Swim Team and also taught all three of her daughters how to swim, one of them works at Sea Star.... Coach Erica!!!

Coach Erica was honored as Outstanding Teacher of the Year by the U.S. Swim School Association at the Fall conference in St. Petersburg, FL in 2007. Erica has been teaching swim lessons at Sea Star since 2005 and has a strong following of adoring students. Her soft-spoken demeanor works well for children who need a little extra compassion, but she is still able to maintain control in a group of high energy students. She recently graduated from the University of Houston with honors with a degree in Education and plans to pursue her passion for teaching in the fall of 2012.

Coach Hannah has a quieter teaching style than most of our instructors which translates well for a lot of our swimmers. Her patience and understanding make her the perfect teacher for our more reserved students. Children excel under her thorough and non-aggressive teaching style. Hannah's bright smile and sweet demeanor are fast earning her a spot in the hearts of her students. She continues to teach each afternoon while attending the University of Houston in the mornings.

Coach Desmond has been with the Sea Star family for the last year. He has quickly become a very well known and loved instructor. He helps develop a love for the water and an enjoyment for swim lessons as he guides each child through the Sea Star lesson curriculum. He was the captain of his high school swim team and has years of competitive swimming behind him. His professional approach ensures that each child receives a fabulous swimming education as well as a fond remembrance of their time at Sea Star.

Coach Casey was hired at Sea Star as a Camp Counselor, the second he saw the pool he was ready to teach swimming. After his first lesson we had the children in his class wanting more of Coach Casey's fun but effective teaching style. His favorite classes are Goldfish and Clownfish but Casey's abilities expand throughout the entire syllabus. While you may see him in camp again this summer, he will back in the pool each afternoon and evening for lessons!

Coach Bea joined the Sea Star team in the spring of 2011 with a strong competitive swimming background. Bea began swam for her high school swim team as well as summer league for many years. Her experience with swimming makes her a great asset to those students needing stroke correction and time improvement. She knows how important drills are to learning the fundamentals and it is evident in her lessons.

Coach Melissa wears many hats at Sea Star. She is the Birthday Party Director, one of the Camp Friday Directors, a very requested Swim Instructor who at the moment is taking a break from the pool while she and her family wait for baby number 3. In the intermission of her teaching lessons you will still see her playing an active roll as a valuable Sea Star staff Member; and can always be found somewhere in the building if you have any questions for her. Melissa is very eager to get back in the pool and continue teaching very soon.

Christina involved in different programs at Sea Star in one way or another since 2006. She started working with camp Friday and quickly found herself in the pool, at the front desk, working summer camp, birthday parties, and anything else that needed to be done. Christina is now working full time as a Payroll Administrator for a staffing company but can be seen at Sea Star 2 - 3 days a week.

Sue found Sea Star just recently, but she certainly isn’t new to swimming. Her swim teaching background is quite impressive. Sue began teaching swimming over 40 years ago!!! Sue also coached for the Missouri City Torpedoes for 15 years. You may recognize Miss Sue from you child’s school bus as she drove buses for 19 years before she returned to her true passion of teaching children to swim. You may still see Miss Sue each afternoon as a crossing guard before she heads to Sea Star to teach!

Jeannett has been water safety instructor trained through the Red Cross for the previous 3 years before coming to Sea Star. She is certified in CPR for the professional rescuer, first aid, oxygen administration, and has completed the courses necessary to train others to become lifeguard certified. With her extensive training and knowledge Sea Star is proud to have Jeannett on our team. It seems that kids are drawn to her natural love for the water and she has a true knack for teaching children of all ages.
